Day 47 - Thursday 16th June 2005Left Budapest and headed for Vienna, fairly quick journey, about 2 hours, then another hour driving around Vienna looking for our hotel. Checked into a lovely room, a studio on the Executive floor. Settled in then headed off for some sight seeing. Had lunch at an outdoor cafe, just as a small thunderstorm started, it cleared up pretty quick and we continued our walk through streets full of crowds, and performers. Called into another St. Stephen's church, huge with marvellous stone work and vast pipe organs. The usual crop of street entertainers in the square, "statue people", accordion players, etc. St. Peter's not far away was a lot smaller but exceedingly opulent. Continued through the Hofburg, past all the horse and carriages for hire and rested our weary feet in the Maria-Theresien Platz. On the way back to the hotel we visited the butterfly house, which was hot and steamy and filled with gorgeous butterflies. Next stop was the Hotel Sacher for a slice of Sacher Torte and coffee. Back at the hotel we changed for dinner and took a short walk through Statd-Park just over the road.
