Saturday - 29th SeptemberToday's destination was Blinman and the "Camp Oven Cookoff". We headed off mid-morning, stopping on the way at Stokes Hill Lookout and the amazing bronze sculpture map with another, short stop at the ruins of the Appealinna Homestead and the "Walls of China". Blinman's "main" street had been blocked off and was lined with booths selling a variety of merchandise. The hill next to the pub had been set up for the competition with a number of large iron rings arrayed for the competitors. Hot coals were provided for the cooking. Everyone appeared to be having a great time. The event should receive much more publicity. The art in the Memorial Hall was excellent, but the cream had already been sold by the time we got there. We came home via Wirrealpa Station and the Wilkawillina Gorge.
