Saturday - 11th AugustQuiet morning. In the afternoon we went to the Kurumba Primary School fete. It’s the only licensed fete in Queensland (and probably Australia). All the shops, and the pub, close at 6pm to support the fete. It goes until 2am in the morning. The park puts on a fish barbeque with entertainment supplied by various park occupants. A great night. The sky is so clear up here the stars fill the sky. Sunday - 12th AugustThe tides were right so we tried fishing from the rocks near the point. Caught nothing but some snags. Ray next door showed us what was possible and turned on a feed for a few of us to get rid of his excess fish. Monday - 13th AugustWe got up early, 5.50am, to catch the charter boat, KerryD, for a morning of fishing. Watched the dawn break as we cruised out along the coast. Judy had the first catch of the day, a nice sized salmon. Altogether we caught 6 good salmon. During the flensing operation, I filleted my finger rather than the fish. Off to the clinic for some stiches. We ended the day with Ray demonstrating kite feeding.
