Sicily Day 13 - July 8th Isle of CapriWe set off early for Sorrento this morning, diving along the high cliffs of the Bay of Naples. We first visited the Notturno wood inlaying factory for a demonstration of their amazing craft and then a browse through their showroom. I was particularly interested in the 19,000Euro dining table set but had to be content with some very nice inlaid boxes. Then it was on down to the port to board our ferry, the Super Flyte, for a short cruise to the Isle of Capri. There were some wonderful boats sailing around ranging from small sailing boats, through gorgeous polished wood speed boats to large scale gin palaces. On our arrival, some of the troupe went off on a guided tour, we went with Antonio, up the funicular through the narrow streets on the saddle ridge and across to the lookouts we enjoyed the views across the sea to the Faraglioni Rocks and Marina Piccola and the beautiful villas. We then had some free time for a marvellous lunch, some shopping, I bought some ceramic tiles and Judy bought a dress, and a little more exploring before heading back down the funicular for some huge icecreams. Later, we cruised back to Sorrento and explored its narrow streets. I bought a belt and some limoncello glasses. Following a nice dinner back at the hotel we again repaired to the garden for drinks.
