Day 46 - Wednesday 15th June 2005Caught a tram, along the Danube bank. Got of and walked across to Buda side. We saw a large cargo river barge steaming downstream with a family living aboard, the children were locked up in a large cage on deck to stop them falling overboard while they played. We visited the old cave church in the side of the hill overlooking the bridge. We then trammed down to the funicular to finish our tour along the old Buda ridge that we interrupted yesterday. We visited the labyrinth under the hill, quite spooky and apparently home to 20,000 troops during WW2. Continued our walk through picturesque streets, then through the town gates and down the hill. We passed a great art-deco apartment house on the way. Caught a couple of trams back to the Pest side of the Danube and window shopped down the main shopping street and ended up at the market. Had dinner at another popular restaurant near the hotel, serenaded by violin/zither/bass combo.
